Job description

This position is responsible for assisting physicians with clinical procedures and providing clerical support when assigned. It serves as the primary link between the patient and the practice and acts as a liaison between the practice and outside support services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate schedules with professional staff and schedule appointments.
  2. Register patients, verify insurance coverage and referrals, answer calls, and direct them appropriately.
  3. Prepare patient medical records according to office protocol (lab reports, allergies, correspondence).
  4. Prepare patients for examinations, assist elderly residents with gowning and seating.
  5. Perform CLIA waived tests as instructed by physicians, including phlebotomy, EKGs, glucometer tests, and spirometry.
  6. Maintain treatment rooms and clinical equipment; manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  7. Record vital signs and perform screenings, including blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, respirations, vision, and temperature.
  8. Prepare and administer vaccinations as needed.
  9. Float to other CNEMG locations as required.
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical training and/or at least six months of related experience or equivalent.
  • Strong background as a Medical Secretary.
  • Good communication skills, including formatting and proofreading letters.
