Job description

We are seeking per diem Medical Assistants to pick up shifts Monday through Friday, but we can be flexible on exact days based on employee availability. In this role, you would be expected to cover various practices across the Pioneer Valley. Towns/cities include:
Amherst
Belchertown
Florence
Greenfield
Hadley
Northampton
South Deerfield
West Hatfield
Williamsburg
We do our best to keep all employees with their preferred geographic regions/specialty areas; however, float pool employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our locations during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes).
Our Medical Assistants partner with and work alongside a physician or advanced practice provider. Responsibilities include:
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone triage, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Required:

- High School diploma/GED - Either BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire



Strongly Preferred:

- Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1-year professional experience - National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
