Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Winchester is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a part-time role (within M-F 8am-5pm, up to 29 hours). The Medical Assistant will perform vitals, injections, patient intake, and assist providers in a behavioral health setting, ensuring confidentiality and quality patient care.

Ideal candidates hold a Medical Assisting Diploma with CMA certification, and possess 6 months to 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Medical Assisting Diploma required; new grads welcome.
• Certified Medical Assistant with six months to 1 year experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

You will be integral in providing professional medical care as a Medical Assistant to behavioral healthcare patients. Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Taking vitals and weight
• Giving injections
• Assist providers
• Pass medications
• Answering phone calls
• greeting clients
• updating patient information
• filling out insurance paperwork and prior approvals,
• helping the provider to complete arrangements for referrals, admissions and laboratory referrals.
• Screen provider phone calls and assist with problem calls
• Give TB tests for employees
• Dispose of contaminated supplies
• Fax and phoning in of patient medications to pharmacies
• Maintain confidentiality and use good judgment within the limits of the CMA guidelines and follow department policies and procedures
