Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Qualified Medical Assistant for the Gloucester, VA area. You will perform patient care and administrative tasks under the direction of a physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN. A CMA/CCMA/RMA or NREMT-Basic certification is required, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks as delegated by the supervising clinician.
• Prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, and maintain patient records.

Overview: Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure
