Job Description:

The Opportunity

Cardiometabolic and Informatics (CMI), part of ARDx business, are recruiting for a Medical Affairs Manager based in Abbott’s Maidenhead office. The role primarily supports UK operations but also EMEA and APAC regions based on business needs.

We seek a leader capable of building peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and Health Authorities, managing real-world data (RWD) generation studies, and possessing a strategic vision for diagnostics and tests.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing medical affairs strategies
  • Collaborating with key experts to influence the clinical utility of Point Of Care testing (POCT) through research, RWD, advisory boards, and HCP education
  • Publishing key studies to enhance Abbott’s scientific presence
  • Providing medical and scientific information to support opinions and safety assessments
  • Contributing to marketing strategies with medical insights
  • Responding to healthcare provider inquiries
  • Overseeing product safety and performance evaluations
  • Interacting with professional bodies and advocacy groups to promote diagnostic value
  • Representing Abbott at conferences and meetings

Travel is estimated at 25%-30% across UK, Europe, and EMEA/APAC.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • PhD, MD, or related Science degree (Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry)
  • Clinical Laboratory Experience
  • Experience in in-vitro diagnostics or pharmaceuticals
  • Leadership and People Management skills
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare, NHS, and private providers
  • Proven network-building with HCPs and KOLs
  • Ability to discuss scientific studies effectively
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
