Job description

We are looking for a full-time Medical Administrator to join our busy but friendly Practice in Wilmslow.

As part of our Admin team, you would be expected to provide an excellent service to our patients.

You need to be well motivated and friendly with good people skills, enjoy working in a busy environment, and being part of a team. You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively, showing understanding, care, and assertiveness when appropriate.

Experience of working in healthcare and a good understanding of Medical Terminology is essential, along with the ability to be proactive and work under your own initiative.

In-house training and continuing support will be provided.

The hours of work are preferably full-time (we would consider job share).

Main duties of the job

Job Summary: Medical Administrator Role.

To provide a wide range of general administration support to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Job description:

  • Administer the efficient, patient-friendly, repeat/non-repeat prescribing system.
  • Process prescription requests accurately and promptly via EMIS Access, patient messages, written requests, pharmacy requests, and postal requests.
  • Be a point of contact for patients, pharmacists, nursing home staff, and colleagues regarding prescriptions.
  • Scan and process electronic and paper documents as required.
  • Process insurance and medical records requests.
  • Check and process emails.
  • Read code clinical documents.
  • Summarise medical records.
  • Process deductions.
  • Complete all online training annually.

This role involves a high-volume workload and requires great attention to detail and accuracy at all times. It is vital for the smooth and safe operation of the Practice.
