A dynamic GP practice is seeking a receptionist to manage front desk operations, assist patients, and provide support to the practice team. This role requires excellent customer service skills, previous experience in a similar setting, and the ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently.
We are currently looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic personwith a flexible approach to join our GP practice. The successful candidate will undertakesecretarial and reception duties and will be first point of contact for our patients.
Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing theappropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient andeffective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and projecta positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in personor via the telephone.
Ensure an effective and efficient reception service isprovided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert callsand take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery
Handling orders, processing of repeat/acute prescriptions.
Scanning of patient related documentation and attachingscanned documents to patients healthcare records
Processing requests for information i.e., SAR,insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms
Support Data Quality Lead with tasks/searches in relation toQP and IIF ensuring KPI are met
Coding clinical data on EMIS Web including summarising andprocessing GP2GP
Primary care experience preferred.
We are a training practice and have over 9,200 patients. We are based in Lower Dundas Street near Monkwearmouth.
Ensure an effective and efficientreception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to thepractice.
Deal with all general enquiries,explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Using your own judgement andcommunication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but whoneed urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Explain practice arrangements andformal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover andensure procedures are completed.
Receive and make telephone calls asrequired. Divert calls and takemessages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
Enter requests for home visits,ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and where necessary refer toDuty Doctor.
Handling orders, processing of repeat/acuteprescriptions.
Process new patient registrations andchange of address
Scanning of patient relateddocumentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
Processing requests for informationi.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms
Clinically coding data on EMIS Webincluding summarising and processing GP2GP
Support Data Quality Lead withtasks/searches in relation to QP and IIF ensuring KPI are met
Have working knowledge of practicetelephone system and Doctors mobiles during and after hours.
Ensure building security havethorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
Any other tasks allocated by Managers.
