A local healthcare provider in Portsmouth is seeking a Medical Administrator to support the efficient handling of key administrative functions. The successful candidate will assist in managing patient data, email correspondence, and prescription processes while ensuring adherence to NHS policies. The Lighthouse Group Practice is looking for a Medical Administrator to join our friendly and hardworking team, working 30 hours a week. The successful candidate will play a vitalrole in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of key administrativefunctions across the practice. Drawn from the Care Navigators, Prescribing, andNotes teams, the team provides comprehensive administrative support, includingmanaging email correspondence, prescription processing, document scanning,patient registrations, and digital care navigation.
The Medical Administration team is based at both Southsea Medical Centre and Devonshire Avenue, and team members work varied hours on a rota basis to cover our core and extended opening times, from 07:30 until 20:00, Monday to Friday.
The team underpins the safe delivery of care byensuring that essential patient data and communications are handled promptlyand securely. They are also key users of the practices digital systems andcontribute to innovation in workflow management. Main duties of the role include, but are not limited to, care navigation, repeat prescription processing, patient registrations and deductions and document processing.

Key Responsibilities
EmailManagement: Monitor and action practice-wide email accounts to ensure timelyresponses and correct task allocation.
PrescribingSupport: Assist in processing repeat prescription requests, liaising withclinical staff to ensure safe and timely medication authorisations.
DocumentHandling: Scan, code, and assign incoming clinical and non-clinical documentsvia Restore and ensure these are accurately uploaded to patient records.
PatientRegistrations: Manage new patient registrations, de-registrations, and updatesto patient demographics in accordance with NHS guidelines.
CareNavigation Support: Utilise SystmConnect and Visiba to triage patient accessrequests and direct them to the most appropriate team member or service.
NotesAdministration: Oversee incoming and outgoing notes, including digitisation,summarisation, and accurate patient coding.
DigitalSystems Use: Operate and maintain familiarity with all practice systemsincluding SystmConnect, Visiba, Restore, and iGPr.
Governance& Compliance: Contribute to safe, effective administration practices inline with information governance and data protection policies.
