About the team:

The Media Team is at the centre of Web Summit, ensuring that everyone knows about our events worldwide. They are the gatekeepers of the Web Summit brand, creating innovative campaigns to communicate our events and the company behind them. They collaborate with media outlets such as Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and BBC daily, providing up-to-date news from Web Summit. They work closely with marketing and speakers teams to ensure aligned communication of the brand globally.

What you’ll achieve at Web Summit:
  • Actively attract and secure top global media attendees for Web Summit Qatar.
  • Champion Web Summit’s global events to MENA media outlets, securing their participation.
  • Coordinate and plan world-class events for media attendees with the media team.
  • Support and mentor team members to deliver high-caliber experiences for over 2000 media professionals, sharing your knowledge of the MENA media landscape.
  • Attend conferences and assist the media team in facilitating media attendees' needs, maximizing their experience and WebSummit’s exposure.
  • Improve processes and procedures in media administration, focusing on automation and streamlining tasks relevant to your region.
  • Manage updates to the media section of the Web Summit Media website, collaborating with in-house teams and marketing managers.
  • Handle logistics for top-tier media and ensure their schedules align with the event.
  • Manage interview requests for top speakers, investors, and partners.
Skills and abilities we're looking for:
  • 5+ years of media experience, specifically in the MENA market.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic (must-have).
  • Extensive contacts with prominent media partners in MENA, especially in tech and entertainment.
  • Ability to attract, sell, and partner with top MENA media outlets, understanding their needs.
  • Strong writing skills are a bonus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and think creatively.
  • Effective working independently and within a distributed media team.
  • Experience in event management.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus but not essential.
