As Media Relations Manager, you will play a central role in enhancing Gowling WLG’s external profile through high-quality national, broadcast, sector and trade media coverage.
Working closely with partners, fee earners and colleagues across Marketing and Corporate Communications, you will identify, shape and deliver proactive and reactive media opportunities that support the firm’s strategic priorities, strengthen its market reputation and showcase its expertise to key audiences.
We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of the UK media landscape, including national, broadcast, legal, business and trade media. You'll know what makes a story, when to approach journalists and how to build lasting media relationships.
You’ll have proven experience securing national and broadcast coverage, writing and placing features, and delivering media relations activity as part of wider communications campaigns. Strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to turn complex topics into engaging content are essential.
You’ll be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, including partners and fee earners, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Experience within a professional services environment is desirable, but not essential.
A keen interest in current affairs, a collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement will help you succeed in this role, whilst demonstrating the confidence in sharing best practice, supporting colleagues and identifying ways to improve how things are done.
