Why Join KPMG as a Media Relations Assistant Manager

KPMG UK is looking for a creative and proactive Assistant Manager to join its Media Relations team.

The Media Relations Assistant Manager will support the firm’s People and Corporate Responsibility business areas.

Working closely with a Senior Media Relations Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with relevant business, marketing, and corporate affairs colleagues to promote key themes and priorities from the People and Corporate Responsibility areas in the media.

Day to day, this role varies from supporting KPMG UK spokespeople with journalist interviews and responding to media requests, to creating bespoke research and drafting media materials for release.

This role would suit a self-starter, with a can-do attitude and a passion for creative storytelling. We are looking for someone who enjoys working across different teams towards shared goals.

What will you be doing?

  • Support KPMG UK’s People and Corporate Responsibility business lines with their media profiles, working closely with a Senior Media Relations Manager
  • Design and draft media plans, media statements, briefing notes, and coverage reports
  • Tailor the firm’s global campaigns into content for the UK media
  • Build a strong network both internally and with relevant journalists in trade and national media
  • Support internal stakeholders with social media
  • Respond to reactive media queries to meet deadlines
  • Responsible for spokespeople media training programme

What will you need to do it?

  • Previous PR experience required, ideally from a professional services firm or in a large corporate
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive and creative mindset
  • Confidence in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
  • An ability to translate complex issues into meaningful and creative communications
  • Able to prioritise and multitask
  • Willingness to learn and build an understanding of KPMG’s commercial agenda
