Brief Description
We are seeking a Media Learning Development Specialist to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to design and develop the training for our workforce of the future in the following locations: Milton Keynes or London (Enterprise House).

About the role

What does an average day for a Media Learning Development Specialist look like?
You will manage the development status of a project, ensuring all the project team are kept up to date. You will be the go-to person for external suppliers, managing the procurement process and ensuring that the supplier meets the timelines and budget. You will also ensure that new courses are configured in Moodle. For new courses, pilots will need to be arranged and feedback from the pilots implemented. Stakeholder management is key, you will be liaising with stakeholders to get feedback and sign off for both new courses and maintenance of existing courses. Working closely with the learning designers, you will help shape what media is chosen for the projects.

Main Responsibilities
As a Media Learning Development Specialist, you will manage and coordinate the design and development of learning products across all media types. Your role is pivotal in maintaining Network Rail's reputation for producing high-quality, creative, and cost-effective training solutions that adhere to our rigorous quality and safety standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design & Development: Create engaging and effective learning materials in various formats, including digital, print, and multimedia.
  • Project Coordination: Lead and oversee the entire development process from concept to delivery, ensuring all projects meet our quality and safety standards.
  • Innovation: Utilize cutting-edge technology and creative strategies to enhance the learning experience for Network Rail employees.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and stakeholders to ensure training solutions meet organizational needs and objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure all products are of the highest standard and compliant with safety regulations.

Essential

  • Experience in designing, developing and publishing effective training and development products, using a variety of authoring and/or design software packages, such as (but not limited to) Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate, Captivate, and HTML.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of instructional design principles.
  • Experience of managing successful projects including evidence of successful internal and external subject matter expert and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate personal accountability when striving for results, whilst consistently role modelling core behaviours of collaboration and customer-centred decision making.
  • Ability to assess and challenge risky or unsafe actions, or poor behaviours of others.
  • A qualification in Instructional Design or Multi-Media, or demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Expertise of how long media takes, cost, process and how learning can be transferred through that media.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and being able to prioritise workloads.
  • Experience in Publishing and course configuration in an LMS.

Desirable

  • A project management qualification.
  • Line management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in using 3D objects with Unity and digital environments.
