Job summary

HDR UK is seeking a Clinical PhD Programme Manager to provide high-quality programme management and coordination for a new multi-partner PhD training programme led by the University of Liverpool and supported by HDR UK.

You will travel regularly to Liverpool and elsewhere in the UK to coordinate with partner institutions, supervise students and ensure milestones, governance and reporting are delivered effectively.

Responsibilities

• Programme management and delivery: support recruitment, onboarding and induction of PhD clinicians with partner universities; manage contractual matters, resources and budget; develop an integrated programme plan; coordinate activity across partners; establish reporting systems and monitor progress.
• Student and supervisor coordination: coordinate training, events, placements and development opportunities; ensure clear information on requirements and milestones; act as main contact for students and supervisors; gather feedback and monitor engagement.
• Partnership and stakeholder management: build relationships with academic, clinical, NHS and industry partners; central coordination between organisations; prepare papers, minutes and tracking; foster a community of stakeholders.
• Governance, reporting and assurance: support governance and decision-making; maintain risk/issue/action registers; prepare progress reports and dashboards; coordinate programme data and documentation.
• Events, training and communications: organise meetings, workshops and conferences; develop clear communications for students and partners; disseminate programme successes.
• Financial and resource management: monitor budgets and expenditures; coordinate procurement and operational requirements; deploy resources effectively.
• Monitoring, evaluation and impact: establish systems to monitor performance and impact; collect data on outcomes; report progress to funders and partners.
