Job description

Our client is a small engineering firm looking to recruit a semi-skilled fitter to join the team.

Two shifts are available: a 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. start. The 6 a.m. shift runs 6–3 Monday–Thursday and 6–11 Friday.

Responsibilities

• Fully assemble and construct complete assemblies as per drawings.
• Monitor the build of component assemblies and ensure all parts are fit for purpose.
• Ensure that all components used in the manufacture of the products are in line, straight, using the correct associated jigs and tools.
• Continuously assess assemblies for quality and ensure all areas of the construction meet the agreed specification and conformance requirements.
• Capable of reading and understanding general arrangement and detailed engineering drawings.
• Report all non-conforming parts or parts of poor quality to the supervisor.
• Ensure that all work undertaken is fully understood before commencing the final assembly of components.
• Comply with the standards and procedures adopted by the company, and all health and safety mandates.
• Complete all work within the given timeframe and to specification, complete all relevant quality checks and fulfil all recording requirements.
