Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic specialist to join our growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across our new STEM & Health Centre in Bodmin and our Engineering facilities at Truro Campus. The role involves delivering, assessing, and developing engineering apprentices, leading workplace assessments, liaising with employers, and supporting learners. You may also deliver programmes for apprentices and vocational learners, and help develop our qualifications and commercial activities in this sector.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • An engineering background in mechanical, maintenance, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Extensive knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, system control, and PLCs.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical/electrotechnical systems.
  • Understanding of ISO9001 or AS9100 and engineering quality assurance.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Preferably, The Successful Candidate Will Also
  • Have recent teaching and industrial experience.
  • Hold A1 assessor status or be willing to obtain it.
  • Be familiar with awarding bodies like EAL and C&G.
  • Understand modern manufacturing and maintenance processes.
  • Motivate and support learners at all levels.

A full clean driving license and transport are essential for visiting workplaces.
