Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer for a site-based permanent role in Herefordshire. You will design, prototype and validate advanced electromechanical positioning systems, collaborating across mechanical, electrical and software teams to deliver high-performance automation solutions.

Ideal candidates have experience in mechatronics or robotics, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks) and a practical engineering mindset; UK SC clearance eligibility is a plus and a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in mechatronics, robotics, automation or electromechanical design.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience.
• Eligible for UK SC clearance.
• Desirable: Defence or harsh-environment experience; motion control or automation exposure.

Mechatronics Engineer

Overview

An established UK engineering company is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to develop advanced electromechanical positioning and automation systems for high-performance applications. Working with a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support projects from concept through production, contributing to design, prototyping, testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electromechanical systems and bespoke engineering solutions.
• Support motor sizing, motion control selection and system integration.
• Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Assist with software/HMI development for control systems.
• Build, test and validate prototypes.
