Job Description:

We’re looking for a Mechatronic Systems Calibration Engineer to join our Climate Cabin Systems team. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of developing and refining the performance of vehicle climate control and air quality systems, ensuring they meet both regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

You’ll be hands-on with both vehicle and rig-based testing, using your analytical skills to interpret data, fine-tune system calibrations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes. From documenting test procedures to preparing detailed reports, your work will directly influence the comfort and wellbeing of future vehicle occupants.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a collaborative engineering environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, detail-oriented work.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including –

  • Carrying out calibration activities for climate cabin and thermal systems, as required by the business. This includes work in climatic test facilities, on UK roads, and in overseas environments for periods of up to four weeks at a time
  • Executing test procedures with care, attention to detail, and sound engineering judgement
  • Providing constructive feedback to support the ongoing improvement of test procedures
  • Offering periodic support in addressing field quality issues related to climate control and air quality systems
  • Producing reports to demonstrate vehicle-level compliance with relevant regulations

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience, recognised training, and capabilities such as –

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Confidence in using Excel to analyse and visualise data, particularly through graphical representation
  • A proven team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • A relevant degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Willingness to travel and participate in extended test activities away from home, for periods of up to four weeks
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools for interrogating and understanding software control models
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition hardware and software
