Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a Mechanical Designer to work in a hybrid capacity in Ayrshire. You will be responsible for the design and optimization of site layouts, ensuring all designs meet P&ID standards, and support construction and commissioning processes. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with recent graduates also considered.

• Recent graduate with some industry experience will be considered.

Overview

Mechanical Designer - Staff - Salary + Benefits - Hybrid Working - Ayrshire

Responsibilities

• Design and optimisation of site layouts in relation to all process equipment, pipework and other /mechanical installations.
• Ensuring mechanical/piping design fully reflects P&ID and best economic/ease of operational fit and maintenance access.
• Designing mechanical packages to support the drive to standardise and design equipment in house.
• Supporting the construction validation & commissioning process in the field with the dedicated project engineer.
• Detailed Mechanical design and layouts of the plant, accurate to the P&ID, completed in a timely manner and to the appropriate design standard (EN13480/ASME B31.3) using Plant 3D software package.
• Complete and regularly review development and training plans to ensure you are up to date on all legal compliance and appropriate skill set.
