Job Description:

We are recruiting for a large FM client who is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work on a prestigious facility in the Manchester area. The work will cover PPM and reactive works plus small works and refurbishment projects on AHU’s, Fan Coil Units, Ventilation systems and general mechanical plant room.
The position is Permanent working a 37.5 hour week. Monday to Friday 8am-4pm. Salary is up to £34.5k plus retention bonus of £3.5k. Holidays 27 days plus stat, on-call one in six (£190 standby payment) and overtime. Company pension 3%/5%.

Your role will be to cover general mechanical and ventilation maintenance. The main aspects of the role will be to:

1. Deliver a responsive breakdown and planned preventative maintenance service
2. General building services engineering across mechanical plant including
3. Work to all policies / procedures and safe systems of work for estates related works in accordance with statutory requirements
4. Provide maintenance to: pipework, venting, pumps, valves, feeds, motors and associated mechanical plant room equipment
5. Minor project works / small works and refurbishment
6. General compliance checks, filter changes, belt maintenance, tap temps and TMV’s etc.

Working on AHU’s systems and split Fan Coil Units plus all general ventilation plant across the estate and associated mechanical plant.

Person Specification

An suitable mechanical Apprenticeship and a City and Guilds or equivalent is required for this role (NVQ Level 3). Qualified ventilation, HVAC or mechanical engineering. Familiar with maintenance operations. Pipefitters welcome to apply as training will be given. Multiskilled background. Commercial plumbers (Level 3) are welcome to apply as training will be provided. Familiar with commercial grade equipment and sites. Excellent communication skills. Willing and able to clear a DBS and HEP-B screening.
