About our Mechanical Technician Opportunities

We regularly recruit skilled Mechanical Technicians across various specialisms within our Science and Technical Divisions. We are interested in talented individuals looking to develop their careers at Diamond, including those who have served or are serving in the UK Armed Forces.

The roles are hands-on, with key duties including:

  • Assembly, maintenance, and repair of the Diamond facility.
  • Inspection and acceptance testing of components and subsystems.
  • Collaborating with scientists and technical support groups during maintenance, commissioning, and operations.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Pipe fitting to Swagelok standards.
  • Modifying and manufacturing components using manual and CNC machines.
  • Performing lifting operations (when trained and registered).
  • Driving Tug and Trailer (when trained and registered).
  • Driving Forklift Trucks (when trained and registered).
  • Logging data in databases, Excel, and Word documents.
  • Using hand tools and metrology equipment such as torque wrenches, dial test indicators, micrometers, vernier calipers, hydraulic pressure test equipment, vacuum test equipment.
  • Maintaining existing equipment and assisting scientists and engineers in designing and installing new equipment.
  • Supporting scientists in experiments, including machining small parts as needed.

Training will be provided as necessary.
