Job description

Location: Hartlepool Site-Based Full-Time
Package: 27k-30k+ overtime + benefits

We are looking for a junior Mechanical Technician to join our engineering team, working on the assembly and testing of subsea pipeline plugs and pressure-retaining equipment.

This role involves working closely with engineers and project managers to ensure high-quality build and performance of mechanical systems used in critical offshore and energy applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components using hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate builds
  • Work with hydraulic pumps, hoses, and fittings
  • Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing
  • Follow and support operating and test procedures (ability to write or improve them is a bonus)
  • Support with procurement of components and build preparation
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams throughout the build and test phases

Requirements

  • Proven mechanical assembly or fitting experience
  • Competent in reading technical drawings and mechanical schematics
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and test setups
  • Hands-on experience conducting pressure testing (preferably hydrostatic)
