We are looking for a Mechanical Technician/Relief Valve Technician to supervise and/or perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, installation, and commissioning of relief valves at UK&I operational facilities, third-party facilities, joint ventures, and subsidiaries.
What will you do?
- Support troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of relief valves, and assist the mechanical team as required.
- Be familiar with relief valves and pressure systems, including P&ID documentation, CREDO, thermal and pilot relief valves, and be competent with SAP transactions and report writing.
- Understand centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, expanders, pumps, and related fluids and requirements.
- Assist in planning shutdown activities, ensuring proper resources and safety measures are in place.
- Prepare detailed reports post-activities, including technical data, drawings, parts used, scope, and recommendations.
How will you do it?
- Mentor other UK&I relief valve technicians to maintain their authorization and compliance.
- Ensure effective execution of maintenance programs and repair work within budget.
- Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns, perform inspections, repairs, and re-commissioning.
- Adhere to safety policies and report incidents appropriately.
- Supervise maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors for effectiveness.
- Manage Change requirements, document modifications, and ensure compliance with all procedures.
- Review and update preventive maintenance procedures for safety and quality improvements.
- Advise Plant Managers on maintenance matters, utilizing technical resources and expertise.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with supporting departments.
- Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Collect data for new projects and updates, and manage SAP entries.
- Follow up on reports and be available for out-of-hours responses.
- Meet or exceed individual goals annually.
What are we looking for?
- Completion of a Formal Mechanical Apprenticeship.
- Significant experience with process pressure systems and equipment, including relief valves.
- Knowledge of materials, systems construction, schematics, OEM manuals, and lifting/rigging procedures.
- Experience with large reciprocating/rotating machinery, expanders, and pumps involving various fluids is advantageous.
