Adecco Workington are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for multiple Mechanical Technician opportunities in Workington, Cumbria. You will maintain, repair and improve a wide range of plant and production equipment, working with operations teams to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.

Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environments.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
Proactive and hands-on maintenance approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
Support plant reliability and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Complete maintenance documentation and update maintenance systems.
Assist with equipment installations, shutdowns and refurbishment projects.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve site targets.

The Role

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of manufacturing plant and production equipment. You will work closely with operations teams to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
