Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a temporary role in Ely. You will join a small workshop team to build and refurbish one-off and low-volume machinery. The position runs for 6 weeks initially, with potential extension, and hours are 9:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

The role focuses on mechanical assembly, stripping old machines, cleaning parts, and sourcing replacement components. A mechanical background and the ability to read drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background and relevant experience.
• Good understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrable use of hand tools and light power tools.
• General knowledge of machine wiring.
• Manual machine shop experience would be advantageous.
