Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a small, friendly workshop team for our client based at Ely. You will be building and refurbishing one-off and low-volume special purpose machinery.

Location: Ely. Duration: 6 weeks initially but may be extended. Hours: 9.00am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Salary: Competitive.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background and relevant experience.
• Good understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrable use of hand tools and light power tools.
• General knowledge of machine wiring.
• Manual machine shop experience would be advantageous.

• Stripping old machines.
• Cleaning parts.
• Identifying worn parts and sourcing suitable replacements.
