Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking two Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for a Northwich site. The role focuses on planned, predictive and reactive maintenance to keep plant performance high, while ensuring safety and quality.

You will follow site procedures, monitor contractor activities and drive improvements across departments. Training opportunities and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• An engineering apprenticeship and formal qualification are required.
• Hands-on experience in a industrial/process/manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow site procedures related to quality, environmental, and health & safety systems.
• Continuously improve plant operations and processes across departments.
• Assist in monitoring external contractors and ensuring compliance with site rules.
• Conduct regular plant inspections and audits.
• Respond quickly to unscheduled plant stoppages to minimize downtime.
• Record labour, materials and planned maintenance tasks (PPM) in the system.
• Safely and efficiently repair plant equipment and services.
• Maintain efficiency of the maintenance department including tool management and spare parts control.
• Participate in the maintenance call-out program.
• Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to diagnose and resolve defects.
• Work within budget guidelines and seek cost-reduction opportunities.
• Promote a Safety-First culture.
• Pursue personal development and training opportunities.
• Share and implement best practices in a process-driven industry.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

51.5k Basic salary + generous benefits such as Healthcare, 20% pension, 26 + stat holidays

Northwich

Shift Pattern - 6 week rotation

Weeks 1-3 - Mon-Fri 6am-2pm.

Weeks 4 & 5 - Mon-Thurs 1pm-9pm, Fri 9.30am-5.30pm.

Week 6 - Mon-Thurs 8pm-6am.

The role focuses on performing planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring optimal performance of the plant in line with health, safety, and quality standards, while driving improvements across the site.

• Follow site procedures related to quality, environmental, and health & safety systems
• Continuously improve plant operations, processes, and the working environment, collaborating across departments
• Assist in monitoring external contractors and ensuring compliance with site rules.
• Conduct regular plant inspections and audits
• Respond quickly to unscheduled plant stoppages to minimize downtime
• Utilise system for recording labour, materials, and performing planned maintenance tasks (PPM)
• Safely and efficiently repair plant equipment and services
• Participate in maintaining the overall efficiency of the maintenance department, including tool management, housekeeping, and spare parts control
• Be part of the maintenance call-out program.
• Diagnose and resolve plant/process defects using Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Work within budget guidelines and seek cost-reduction opportunities
• Engage in and promote a Safety-First culture
• Identify and pursue personal development and training opportunities
• Share and implement best practices within a process driven industry.

Skills/Experience Required

• A recognized engineering apprenticeship and formal qualification.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial, process, chemical or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical drive couplings, chains, belts, and bearings.
• Welding/ Fabrication experience
