Position: Mechanical Technician

Location: Labman HQ, Seamer, North Yorkshire

Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 (based on experience)

Job Opportunity

As a result of continued growth, Labman is looking to expand its Mechanical team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Robotics Engineers, supporting them through all phases of robotics engineering—from installation and repair to maintenance of existing robotic systems.

We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment. Labman designs and delivers custom robotics and software solutions to leading global companies and public sector organizations. This position offers a stimulating and varied workload.

What You Will Do
  1. Assemble and refine mechanical systems using both hand and power tools
  2. Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective, timely solutions
  3. Collaborate with designers to develop and enhance robust mechanical systems
  4. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  5. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Labman
What Essentials You Bring
  • Proven ability in hands-on work, with confident use of hand tools and power tools
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with mechanical systems
  • Skilled at meeting strict deadlines while maintaining safety, quality, and sound engineering practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistently dependable
  • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office applications
  • High standard of housekeeping with strong attention to detail and organisation
  • Collaborative team player with effective communication skills
Desirable Skills
  • Driving licence
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Some automation industry experience
  • ‘Hands-on’ interests outside of work such as fixing cars, bikes, or general tinkering
