Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for a high-profile site near Hamble-le-Rice on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is site-based with a 40-hour week and potential overtime; applicants should be within daily commuting distance to the site.

You will perform discipline tasks safely, deliver quality plating construction, support delivery of project goals, and follow all policies and drawings. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, CCNSG Safety passport, and Wood training are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical discipline.
• CCNSG Safety Passport.
• Wood mandatory training and awareness.
• MJI10 or TMJI10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required discipline tasks, safely and to project requirements, procedures and specifications.
• Deliver high quality plating construction work in line with project and company standards.
• Support overall delivery of project goals and schedule.
• Ensure work scope is completed safely with no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment.
• Read, understand and implement workpacks/ jobcards, drawings and procedures.

Wood is recruiting a skilled Mechanical Fitter, on a staff basis, for a high‑profile client site in Hamble‑le‑Rice — full‑time, permanent, and ready for you to make an impact.

Mechanical Fitter Opportunity

Wood has a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter based near Hamble‑le‑Rice to join us on a full‑time, salaried basis. Working a 40‑hour week, you’ll be part of a busy, dynamic site with opportunities for overtime.

Please note: as this is a full‑time, site‑based position, we are primarily considering candidates within a daily commutable distance from site.

Responsibilities

Key aims and objectives

• To perform all required discipline tasks, safely, consistently and in accordance with project requirements, procedures and specifications
• To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent plating construction service in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures.
• To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule.
• To ensure all that all work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment.

• Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the plating/structural work scope is completed safely and to a high standard
• Follow the schedule communicated by the supervisor
• Complete all workscope in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
• Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team
• Apply for relevant permits to work (PTW) in order to complete workscope in a controlled and safe manner
• Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete workscope in a safe and controlled manner

• Wood mandatory training, induction, risk awareness, etc
