Job description

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine related sectors. Due to growth they now require a Mechanical Technician to join their busy North East facility.


The Role

Carrying out the sub-assembly, build and installation of project equipment on a daily basis liaising with the Construction, Commissioning and Engineering teams as required.

Work independently in the assembly and installation of equipment with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics. In addition to assembly and installation responsibilities, the role will also include support of function testing, commissioning and FAT of project equipment.

You will be required to comply with all HSE and QA requirements including completion of build and test documentation and use of internal reporting systems.

A flexible approach to work would be demonstrated as overtime and shift working may be necessary to meet project demands.

This role may require UK and international travel from time to time.


The Person
  1. Time served from a recognised apprenticeship
  2. Prior experience of working in a heavy engineering environment on complex equipment
  3. Knowledge of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Systems
  4. Certified to operate workshop plant and machinery (advantageous but not full requirement)
  5. Recognised certification for Working at Height (advantageous but not full requirement)
  6. IT Proficient (competent in basic use of Microsoft Office Applications)
