Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a Mechanical Technician for Field Service across the UK and Ireland, with focus on power stations and rotating plant. You’ll operate on customer sites, exercising your trade skills while prioritising safety and right-first-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have a time-served electrical/mechanical apprenticeship and at least 3 years of mechanical fitting experience, preferably in power station environments.

Qualifications

  • Time-served electrical/mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of mechanical fitting experience, preferably in Power Stations and site works.
  • Strong communication skills and good understanding of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Generator technology.
  • Familiarity with turbine auxiliary systems; electrical understanding is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Mechanical Technician for Field Service at designated customer sites, applying skills safely.
  • Follow high-level instructions from the Supervisor and Site Manager within guidelines.
  • Identify and report issues or defects to the appropriate level and assist in daily tasks.
  • Review, advise and resolve potential site issues related to your scope of work, ensuring safety guidelines.
  • Exhibit motivation and contribute to site programs, training lower-grade employees when needed.

  • Act as a Mechanical Technician for Field Service work at designated customer sites, applying your trade-specific skills effectively and safely.
