Base Location: Aldbrough

Salary: £43,704 - £51,484 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

SSE Thermal currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our Gas Storage business. This is a critical role ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems across our gas storage sites.

You will

- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to maximise plant performance.

- Diagnose faults and carry out root cause analysis on critical equipment and systems.

- Support the development of maintenance schedules and implement project work.

- Supervise teams of staff and contractors, ensuring all work is performed safely and to high-quality standards.

- Accurately update all relevant systems and documentation in line with operational procedures.

You have

- ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with solid experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within the gas or related industry.

- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as Maximo.

- Proven track record of working safely and contributing to a strong safety culture.

- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites as needed.
