Job summary

Kingdom People is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a specialist engineering team working on marine and ship-based equipment. This hands-on role focuses on assembly, fault-finding, and practical engineering challenges across UK sites.

You will travel to ships and customer sites in the UK and Europe, with potential for further international travel. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, is proactive, and capable of working independently when required.

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join a specialist engineering team working on marine and ship-based equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys practical engineering, troubleshooting, and variety in their role.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Mechanical assembly, strip-down, and rebuild of equipment.
• Fault finding, diagnosis, and carrying out corrective actions.
• Rework and repairs using engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Supporting investigations into mechanical issues and helping to identify solutions.
• Visiting ships and customer sites across the UK and Europe, with potential for further international travel.
• Working closely with engineers and customers to resolve technical problems.

What We're Looking For:

• A strong mechanical background - ideally a qualified or experienced mechanic.
• Automotive, marine, plant, agricultural, or similar mechanical experience considered.
• Excellent hands-on assembly and fitting skills.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Confident fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Someone who is inquisitive, proactive, and eager to get involved.
• A practical individual who can research, learn, and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong character with a positive attitude and willingness to travel.
