Mechanical Technician

Are you a Mechanical Technician looking to join a successful company?

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK develop, supply and support cutting-edge maritime technology for customers worldwide. They are offering an opportunity to work with like-minded people within a supportive team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for a variety of production tasks over a wide product range. You will be responsible for the manufacture and testing of mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician:

  1. To carry out various motor builds & assemblies following detailed drawings and adhering to assembly procedures
  2. Assist in the communication of errors in drawings or assembly to the Production Engineers/Section Leaders
  3. Assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing systems
  4. Adhere to control processes to achieve conforming product
  5. Working to high tolerances and complex drawings
  6. Be aware and compliant with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
  7. Appropriate training will be provided to be able to perform the various manufacturing operations

Knowledge and experience of the Mechanical Technician:

  1. A completed apprenticeship in a relevant field desirable but not essential
  2. Able to read mechanical complex drawings
  3. Have a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and equipment desirable but not essential
  4. Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of mechanical systems
  5. Sound knowledge and experience to diagnose and fault find on mechanical equipment
  6. Understands the principles and need for production control documentation and traceability
  7. Able to trace faults in end product and identify production inefficiencies and suggest solutions
  8. Possess a working knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements in a production environment
  9. Have previous experience of working to high tolerances
