Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Fife

Shift: Rotating Shifts (Day, Back, and Night)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a fantastic manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment, specifically in fabric production. This role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including day, back, and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
  3. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions.
  4. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance and efficiency.
  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory management.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  1. HND or Time Served Apprenticeship
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in manufacturing.
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation.
  4. Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including day, back, and night shifts.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
