Job summary

Globalenergynetwork in Aberdeen is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to inspect, maintain, repair and test a range of mechanical and diesel-powered equipment, including customer-owned gear and hire fleet assets.

You will disassemble, diagnose and repair items such as jetting units, air compressors and pumps, and complete ATR documentation. A strong safety focus and ability to work to deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with ability to disassemble/assemble equipment.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and parts lists.
• Experience maintaining/repairing HP and UHP jetting units, air compressors, pumps and diesel driven equipment.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• High workmanship standards; ability to work to deadlines and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair and test mechanical and diesel-powered equipment (customer owned and hire fleet).
• Perform portable appliance testing of electromechanical machines.
• Disassemble, diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment including pumps, jetting units and compressors.
• Complete ATR equipment documentation (Job Cards, Inspection Cards, Test Certificates).
• Follow risk assessments and QHSE procedures; maintain housekeeping and safety culture.
• Be an ambassador for safety and ATR values; assist with related duties as trained.
• Contribute to a positive QHSE culture by reporting unsafe acts.

Job description

Responsible for carrying out inspection, maintenance, repair and test of mechanical and diesel-powered equipment, both customer owned and within the hire fleet. Portable appliance testing of various electromechanical machines.

• Disassemble, diagnose & Repair of various equipment including Paint pumps, Hydracleans, Transfer pumps, Various blast pots, Various hand tools, Needle guns, Mag drills, bristle blasters, grinders.
• Disassemble, diagnose & repair a wide range of small to medium sized air powered and diesel operated mechanical machinery. Carry out regular plant and equipment visual safety inspections to ensure there are no faults or defects; reporting same to Supervisor and undertaking, as instructed, any remedial actions to maintain certification and availability.
• Disassemble, diagnose & Repair required on large diesel driven equipment, e.g. HP and UHP Jetting Units, Air Compressors, Pumps.
• Completion of ATR Equipment Solutions supporting documentation i.e. Job Cards, Inspection Cards, Test Certificates.
• Follows all Risk Assessments/COSHH Assessments as per approved company QHSE policies and procedures.
• Housekeeping.
• Act as an ambassador for safety demonstrating safe behaviours.
• Live our ATR values and apply them in day-to-day activities.
• The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive QHSE culture by taking reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others at all times. Be prepared to challenge unsafe acts and behaviour and report these using the correct reporting procedures.

Be disciplined in completing mandatory training assigned relevant to the role designed to help protect the safety and security of the organisation and its employees.

A sound working knowledge of various Mechanical and Pneumatic Tooling, Blasting Equipment, Air Driven transfer pumps, paint pumps and diesel equipment would be beneficial.

Key skills and competencies include:

Mechanical aptitude, ability to disassemble and assemble various mechanical and tooling equipment.

Experience with maintaining and repairing a wide range of HP and UHP Jetting Units, Air Compressors, Pumps and Diesel drive equipment.
