Astute People's Power Team - Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader

Astute People's Power Team is exclusively working with the South Clyde Energy Centre to recruit a full team of Operations & Maintenance staff. The plant, currently under construction, will process up to 350,000 tonnes of waste annually, generating power for approximately 70,000 homes. This new power station is scheduled to commence commercial operation by the end of 2026. Now is an excellent opportunity to join during the full plant commissioning, training, and mobilisation phases.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader to join the Maintenance Team at this state-of-the-art facility. The role involves planning daily maintenance activities for Mechanical Technicians, supporting preventative and corrective maintenance, outage and project planning, and managing third-party contractors.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical maintenance technicians to ensure high standards of maintenance and maximum plant availability.
  • Schedule, plan, and optimise all mechanical maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise and direct contractors.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations department to ensure seamless plant operation.
