Job description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team, specializing in missile systems within the defence sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing critical parameters, ensuring mechanical architecture and interfaces meet Technical Requirement Specifications (TRS), and supporting the development of optimal mechanical architectures for various missile variants. This role requires SC Clearance and British nationality.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical Architecture: Capture critical parameters within the Missile TRS, ensuring the mechanical architecture and interfaces meet the TRS requirements.
  2. Variant Support: Support the development of the optimum mechanical architecture for all missile variants, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  3. Technical Specifications: Establish or update the Technical Requirement and Interface Defining Specifications for sub-systems.
  4. Safety Approval: Ensure Safety Officer approval of the missile safety design, focusing on mechanical configuration.
  5. GMA Policies: Implement GMA Policies to achieve Modularity & Reuse objectives.
  6. Statements of Work: Produce Statements of Work and programmes for activities within your sphere of responsibility.
  7. Budget Control: Control assigned budgets (Task Instructions), manage personal workload, and identify any further resource needs.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in mechanical architecture, particularly within the defence sector.
  3. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in capturing and managing technical requirements, and excellent communication abilities.
  4. Security Clearance: Must be SC Cleared and a British National.
