Staffright Southend is supporting Essex County Council in recruiting a grounds maintenance operative on a full-time, temporary basis.

As a Mechanical Sweeper, you will join a dedicated team to provide high-quality street cleansing services in Saffron Walden, Essex.

Responsibilities:

• Operate vehicles and equipment as authorized and directed.
• Work with the team to achieve timely service delivery meeting customer needs.
• Respond to community members with respect and consideration.
• Ensure operational safety of equipment and vehicles.
• Complete checks and cleaning of assigned vehicle and equipment.
• Use protective clothing appropriately.
• Comply with health and safety requirements at all times.
• Undertake further training as required.
• Keep managers informed of concerns.
• Perform other duties within competence, including emergency responses.
• Monitor personal work and seek opportunities for service improvement.

Essential Experience:

• Good level of English reading and writing.
• Valid UK C or C1 driving license with at least two years of driving experience.
• Current CPC (desirable).
• Experience with Mechanical Sweeper driving (desirable), training provided.
