Qualifications

Mechanical Supervisor

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £45,000 Per Annum

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a large facilities management organisation based in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, possess strong technical knowledge, and have relevant experience.

The preferred candidate will have completed an apprenticeship in a mechanical field and have an interest in Mechanical Engineering. Hospital maintenance experience is a plus.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and execute mechanical maintenance and minor works, including pressure systems, HVAC, water systems, medical gases, and fabric repairs.
  • Respond promptly to emergency tasks to ensure service continuity.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and record updates.
  • Coordinate shift rotas and out-of-hours service coverage.
  • Review risk assessments and method statements; issue Permits-to-Work as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, including NHS representatives, and support procurement and stock control.
  • Conduct quality checks and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain tools, workspaces, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Undertake specialist training and attain up to three Authorised Person appointments.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship and relevant maintenance experience.
  • Hospital maintenance experience is desirable.
  • Ability to supervise and work on building service systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM) and Permit to Work procedures is advantageous.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain PVG Level Disclosure.
  • Training in first aid (including CPR) within the last three years or willingness to undergo training.
