Qualifications

  • Fully qualified tradesperson to NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline, plumbing or equivalent.
  • Two years experience in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
  • Familiar with Water supply regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Experience on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
  • Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • G3 unvented water heater vessel course.
  • L8 awareness training (Provided if required).

Overview

Mechanical Supervisor (Plumber) — Location: HMP Coldingley, Shaftesbury Rd, Bisley, Woking GU24 9EX. Salary: £47,045.49 per annum. Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week.

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at HMP Coldingley, a category C adult male prison. Explore a varied and rewarding career at GFSL. Responsibilities
  • Supervise mechanical/plumbing workloads as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team to maintain safe and secure operation of the prison.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across trades (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators) to deliver timely maintenance and repairs.
  • Support and promote a safe working environment with a focus on health and safety requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating planned preventive maintenance operations and respond to issues to ensure continuous operation of water and heating systems.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified tradesperson to NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline, plumbing or equivalent — Essential
  • Two years experience in a role as a plumber or equivalent — Desirable
  • Familiar with Water supply regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements — Desirable
