Job Description

Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Supervisor to oversee all mechanical works on a residential construction project. The ideal candidate will have experience managing mechanical teams, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining project timelines. You will be working alongside a trusted contractor to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the mechanical systems in the building.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervising and coordinating mechanical works for the residential project, ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and specifications.
2. Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing).
3. Ensuring all works are carried out in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with health and safety standards.
4. Managing and leading a team of mechanical tradespeople, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity and quality.
5. Liaising with contractors, engineers, and other trades to resolve issues and ensure the project remains on schedule.
6. Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks.
7. Maintaining accurate records of work completed, material usage, and any issues encountered.
8. Providing reports and updates to senior management on progress, challenges, and solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role, particularly in residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing.
• Experience in managing teams and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
• Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to think on your feet.
• A proactive approach to health & safety on-site.
• Own tools, but not essential.

Additional Supervisor Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A solid understanding of project management processes and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
