Your new role
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, reliability, and performance of key mechanical infrastructure across a large operational estate. This includes assets such as dock gates, bridges, pumping stations, and other heavy mechanical systems. You'll lead a team of technicians, manage both planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently. The role also involves supporting fault diagnosis, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and contributing to continuous improvement and capital projects.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong background in mechanical maintenance within industrial, marine, or infrastructure environments
  • Recognised mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent)
  • Experience supervising engineering or maintenance teams
  • Proficiency in fault-finding, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance
  • Familiarity with CMMS and safe systems of work (permits, RAMS, etc.)
  • Ability to manage projects from planning through to completion
