Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

£58,800

Days Mon – Fri – 37.5 Hours a Week

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join us at our high-speed manufacturing plant in Braunstone. We are already a household name within FMCG and have extensive expansion plans over the next 12-18 months including the installation and commissioning of 2 brand new fully automated production lines.

This role will largely be based out on the shop floor and for the vast majority is not a desk-based management role – This role will suit someone who is comfortable with an 80/90% shop floor based position

Role and Responsibilities

  • Management of a team of mechanical shift engineers – 8 engineers in total
  • Coordinating maintenance, delegation of work, presenting reports in production meetings, and ordering spares
  • Producing SOPs for jobs
  • Contractor management on maintenance/projects
  • Work to strict health and safety laws/permits and risk assessments

The Successful Candidate

  • Time served apprenticeship – Essential
  • Strong mechanical bias - Essential
  • Prior knowledge in metal forming/metal working is highly beneficial (CNC/Press Tooling/Aeronautical background)
  • Ideally qualified to a minimum of HNC level in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Strong organisational/management skills
