Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join a specialist engineering firm serving the water and wastewater sector. This full-time, permanent role offers a hands-on leadership position across UK projects and sites.

You will lead Mechanical Fitters on client sites, oversee installation, maintenance and repairs, and ensure safety standards. Travel across the UK, valid CSCS card and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in water industry.
• Proven experience supervising a team on site.
• Valid CSCS card is essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and stay away when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Mechanical Fitters on client sites.
• Work hands-on alongside the team, overseeing mechanical installation, repairs and maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate projects, ensuring correct resources and equipment are available.
• Carry out mechanical works including pump replacements, pipework installation, valve fault-finding and equipment alignment.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and project managers.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and to the required quality standards.
• Oversee site health and safety, including RAMS, permits to work and site inspections.
