Job summary

1st Step Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Site Manager for a newly secured residential project in Manchester. You will oversee mechanical subcontractors, liaise with supervisors, and manage on-site safety and quality.

Applicants should have City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Services or equivalent, CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, and proven experience with Tier 1 M&E contractors on residential schemes. Strong organisation and people management essential.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Services or equivalent.
• CSCS certification.
• SSSTS/SMSTS qualification.
• Good literacy skills.
• Proactive thinking with enthusiastic character.
• Well organised and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with colleagues and supervisors on timeframe and labour requirement.
• Respond to mechanical issues as they occur.
• Gather information about the mechanical installation and potential surprises.
• Oversee direct labour or mechanical subcontractors.
• Complete mechanical site safety audits and safety paperwork.
• Ensure safe working practices by plumbers on site.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed as required.
• Report daily on site issues or progression.
• Assist teams with resolving matters arising.
• Identify corrective actions and implement countermeasures to maximise productivity.
• Source and deliver materials to minimise disruptions and maintain stock records.
• Maintain health and safety systems including risk assessments and method statements.

Education
