Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to oversee boiler and mechanical projects across industrial sites in the UK. You will lead engineering teams, coordinate health and safety RAMS, and ensure work is delivered to high standards.

Based in Lancashire with UK-wide travel, the role offers a permanent, full-time position with a company vehicle, pension and travel allowances. You will engage with clients and subcontractors to drive successful project handovers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Site Manager, Site Supervisor or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial steam boilers, steam systems or pressure equipment.
• Experience managing engineering teams on live industrial sites.
• Good understanding of welding, pipework installation and mechanical repairs.
• Experience producing RAMS and managing permit-to-work systems.
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel and stay away when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage industrial boiler and mechanical engineering projects from start to completion.
• Supervise mechanical fitters, pipefitters, coded welders and subcontractors.
• Prepare and manage RAMS, permits and site documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, NDT activities, pressure testing and quality documentation.
• Liaise directly with clients, inspectors and third‑party stakeholders.
• Monitor labour, materials, project progress and costs.
• Ensure all mechanical engineering works are completed safely, on time and to the highest standards.
• Support project handovers and completion documentation.

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Site Manager with a strong background in industrial steam boilers, pressure systems and mechanical engineering projects to join a well-established engineering business based in Lancashire.

The successful candidate will oversee mechanical engineering projects across industrial sites throughout the UK, taking responsibility for planning, coordinating and managing a variety of works, including boiler repairs, installations, shutdowns and mechanical maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Mechanical Site Manager who enjoys working closely with clients, leading engineering teams and delivering complex mechanical projects safely and efficiently.

Key Duties

• Coordinate inspections, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, pressure testing and quality documentation.

• Ensure all mechanical engineering works are completed safely, on time and to the highest standards.
• Support project handovers and completion documentation.

Requirements

Essential:

• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
