Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Site Manager for a firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects.


Job Summary:

The Mechanical Site Manager will oversee all mechanical installation activities on-site, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical building services, strong leadership skills, and a track record of delivering commercial projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and supervise the mechanical works on-site including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and associated systems.
  2. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other site teams to ensure smooth delivery of mechanical services.
  3. Ensure works are completed according to drawings, specifications, and regulations.
  4. Monitor progress against the programme and report any delays or issues to the Project Manager.
  5. Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with HSE standards and company procedures.
  6. Attend and lead regular site meetings, providing technical guidance and resolving issues as they arise.
  7. Manage and maintain site documentation including RAMS, permits to work, and progress reports.
  8. Liaise with consultants, engineers, and the client representative as required.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in a Mechanical Site Manager or Supervisory role on commercial new-build projects.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems in building services.
  3. Relevant mechanical or building services qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
  4. SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
  5. CSCS card (Management level preferred).
  6. First Aid qualification (desirable).
  7. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  8. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
