Job summary

Metlen Energy & Metals is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to lead mechanical installation activities in our MRES-ET unit. You will supervise subcontractors, verify torqueing and alignment, review drawings, and ensure QA/QC compliance on site.

The role requires a degree in mechanical/structural/civil engineering and 2+ years in construction or renewable energy projects, with strong communication, problem solving, RAMS focus, and a proactive approach to safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/structural/civil engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience supervising and coordinating mechanical/structural installation works in construction and renewable energy projects.
• Experience with subcontractor management and site execution support.
• Strong knowledge of mounting structures, trackers, steel posts, torque tubes and related components.
• Experience with torqueing, alignment, tolerances and installation quality standards.
• Familiarity with QA/QC inspections, site documentation, and project compliance procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, installation manuals, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Experience coordinating mechanical activities with civil and electrical teams in fast-paced sites.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills under site pressure.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to RAMS and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical subcontractors during installation of mounting structures, trackers, steel posts, torque tubes, and structural components.
• Verify assembly quality, torqueing, levelling, alignment, tolerances, and corrosion protection compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and manpower allocation to ensure efficient project execution.
• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, installation manuals, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Support mechanical inspections, QA/QC activities, and compliance with ITPs and company quality standards.
• Monitor installation progress, quantities installed, productivity rates, and report delays or material shortages.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with civil and electrical teams, including trenching and DC cabling activities.
• Verify correct use of tools, torque equipment, and installation procedures on site.
• Maintain records of mechanical issues, corrective actions, and project progress reporting.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, PPE requirements, toolbox talks, snagging activities, final alignment checks, and safe systems of work.

What you bring to the role:
