Job summary

HVAC Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mechanical Lead Engineer to oversee mechanical maintenance on a large healthcare contract in West London. This hands-on leadership role will supervise engineers, manage PPMs and reactive tasks, and ensure safe, compliant operation of AHUs, FCUs, pumps and heating systems.

You will coordinate contractors, maintain documentation, and support the Mechanical Manager when required.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Mechanical Maintenance / Building Services experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical plant, HVAC systems and fault finding.
• Experience in lead engineer or supervisory roles preferred.
• Healthcare or large commercial building experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Mechanical Engineers, covering for the Mechanical Manager when required.
• Oversee PPMs, reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs across mechanical building services.
• Work on AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, valves, heating systems and general HVAC plant.
• Carry out plant room inspections, maintenance checks and support engineers with technical issues.
• Oversee contractors, ensure compliance with Health & Safety, RAMS and site procedures.
• Manage daily maintenance tasks, documentation and ensure works are completed to a high standard.

Mechanical Lead Engineer

Location: West London – Static Healthcare Site

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Call Out: Not initially required

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer / Mechanical Supervisor to join a leading Facilities Management company on a large, established healthcare contract in West London.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, overseeing mechanical maintenance and supporting an established engineering team. We are also happy to consider experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineers looking to step up into a Lead position.

The Role

• Leading and supporting Mechanical Engineers, covering for the Mechanical Manager when required.

• Previous Lead Engineer or Supervisory experience desirable, although experienced engineers looking to progress will be considered.
• Mechanical, plumbing or electrical qualifications/backgrounds considered with strong mechanical experience.
• Healthcare or large commercial building experience beneficial but not essential.
