Place of Work/Group Company: Nijhuis Saur Industries Industrial O&M Solutions, Cornwall
Summary:
The Mechanical Service Technician (Wastewater, Multi-site) will be responsible for operating and mechanically maintaining the assets associated with the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) on multiple sites in Cornwall and one site in Wiltshire, UK. The primary base for the operator will be in Cornwall.
The Mechanical Service Technician will also carry out PPM and reactive mechanical maintenance across the sites. All travel and overnight expenses will be paid for by the company in line with the expenses policy.
The Mechanical Service Technician's main working hours will be 8am-4pm Monday to Friday; however, the need to cover holiday and sickness on other days, including weekends and Bank Holidays, will be expected, with overtime or rest days in the week given.
The on-site WWTPs receive mixed effluent from the customer and require treatment to a high standard. The WWTP processes therefore require regular monitoring for any deviation from the operational plan.
The Mechanical Service Technician will be expected to implement monitoring control activities and operational changes. They will also be expected to maintain analytical data in a computer-based system to record plant performance. After carrying out testing and analysis, the Technician will respond to results by optimizing the WWTP process to ensure the plant is operating optimally, within its set operating limits.
The role also requires that the assets are operated at optimum performance at all times; the operator will form part of a team framework to assist in this task.
